Kenya Waterless Cookware was established in 1997 when the need for information about healthy cooking/eating was identified when the Nutritionist for the Co. Mr Giuseppe Sortino realised that the Kenyan population were using cooking methods that, to say the least, were inadequate for nutrition and hygiene purposes, because of the widespread use of aluminium cookware.
The Company has an office/showroom where people visit to see the products or to come and purchase or pay their installments and collect their goods.
At present there are around 40 Consultants who travel around the Country to promote healthier cooking through Waterless Cookware.
K.W.C. is the exclusive distributor of the AMCO WATERLESS products in Kenya and Uganda. The product is made in Turkey under Italian Licence (since August 2007). This is following a move by the Italian Co. to Turkey to keep prices down and be competitive in its field.
The Company’s way of business is different from others. For a start there are no shops where the product can be found. It was decided from the beginning that the products will be brought directly to the public who was interested in a healthier way of cooking.
The Company recruits personnel which are trained personally by Mr Sortino to demonstrate to people the advantages in Health and Savings, gained by using Waterless Cookware. Demonstrations are carried in people’s homes, with friends and relatives. By doing so it is possible to establish the enormous difference in cooking with conventional cooking utensils and Waterless.
The needs for Optimum Nutrition and Optimum Health are discussed and cooking is done without water- fat and salt and tasting of the food will show the difference. Also the test carried on the aluminium pans is demonstrated to show how much of a hazard they really are to our Health.
A Free Gift is presented to the Hostess if she has a minimum of 6 guests and another Free Gift if anyone orders during the demonstration, although there is no obligation or hard selling done. The most important thing is to make people realize that there is another way of looking after your Health by treating the food we cook in the right way. It is then left to people to decide.
THE PRODUCT
The cookware is made of St.Steel CR/NI 18-10 (also called surgical steel)
It is at present the best material for cooking utensils because it doesn’t react with the foods ingredients like aluminium does. For anyone’s information, aluminium pans release an Oxide (the blackness noticed after its use) that is very harmful to Health in many ways. The Consultant will be able to explain this in details. Clean food must be first priority in cooking and Nutrients are the items that need to be kept in the food if we want to achieve our Optimum Health. Without them there is very little that we can do to nourish our body and keep it going at its best.
The product has made its name of “ WATERLESS COOKWARE” although it can also cook in a conventional way. However it can cook without water because it has, applied at the bottom, a very special base called “THERMIC-AL and it’s capsulated by Stainless Steel to retain heat and be easily cleaned.
By using very little heat it is possible to use the natural moisture in the fresh foods and cook without additional water which would dilute Mineral Salts ( the flavours of food).
Heat is one of the elements that destroys Vitamins, Enzymes and breaks down fibre which are all useful in our digestion, nutrition and many other factors in body functions and our well being.
It can also cook without the use of extra oils by using what is already in fresh meat or fish and for frying onions etc you will only need a teaspoon. The less fats (especially the saturated ones which come from animals) taken into the body the better it is, to avoid or control HBP, Cholesterol, Obesity, digestive problems, diabetes, Heart conditions and many other conditions which are related to an inadequate diet.
No salt means that you don’t have to add salt to your food because the natural one is retained. Majority of people are addicted to salt because, these days, we have been used to too many fast foods packed with so much salt, sugar and other (UTO) ‘unidentified tasting objects’ that we have forgotten what actually fresh food tastes like.

THE EARNINGS
By not having shop outlets the Company relies very much on its Consultants to whom is given the Opportunity of Marketing and Selling as if the product were their own. In fact it is given on a Franchise basis although there is no need to purchase from the Company, therefore it is their own business without financial outlay.
The Consultant finds its own Customers and takes the orders to the Company and from then on it is followed by the Company and Commission paid to the Consultant on delivery of the product.
There is no need of premises, advertising, licence, stock purchase, advertising material, staff etc. The Consultant is an extension of the Company but his own boss with the opportunity to enlarge his/her operation by introducing other people into the system and build up a team for him/herself and receive more financial gains from them.
Bonuses and incentives are also a factor for more rewards and a pleasant environment within the Company. The work is very pleasant for someone who is interested in Health and meeting people and above all help to make people better.
