After all we’re not just about the living room any longer. Now with the addition of our sub-brands TLR Office™, TLR Joinery™, TLR Boutique™, and TLR GO™ we can make sure that no matter what you’re looking for, we have it. From your home to your office, our buyers select from a vast range of internationally recognized brand names you can shop in our showrooms. We offer one-of-a-kind pieces custom designed and hand-crafted in our TLR Joinery workshop. Our TLR Brands TLR Eclectic™ – houses home and office furniture, a mattress department and is an authorized Samsung dealer. Additionally, in partnership with Ashley Homes Stores, TLR eclectic showrooms house Ashley Galleries and a full assortment of contemporary home furnishings. TLR Office™ – one of TLR eclectic’s most successful sub-brands, TLR Office boasts name brands in office furnishings and modular office solutions. TLR Joinery™ – is the company’s manufacturing plant located in Dar es Salaam. The factory is able to manufacture custom fittings on a large scale for government tenders and other corporate projects. Among its services are in-house interior decoration, floor planning, architectural consultation and innovative concept design on both a private and commercial scale TLR Joinery is also home to designers who are building a large assortment of bespoke furniture for home and office. TLR Boutique™ -- the assortment caters to a more avante garde furniture customer interested creating their own style. The collection reflects the newest trends, fabrications and textiles. It’s in the TLR Boutique that customers will find our Style Guru’s flair for colour and mixing and matching styles. It is also home to some of Dar’s up and coming furniture and textile designers. TLR GO™ -- located in Uchumi supermarket, TLR GO specializes in low priced, easy pack furniture pieces for the home. Our History in brief In 1993, we opened our doors as The Living Room in Dar es Salaam, showcasing imported home furnishings. We did that because we wanted furniture that we could enjoy. The store was the first of its kind in Dar, establishing us as a leader in the industry. In tandem with an extensive network of international manufacturers, buying trips for the showroom took The Living Room to Europe and South East Asia in pursuit of top quality furniture at a value which brought high street furnishings to the Dar es Salaam show rooms. Five short years later, in another strategic decision, The Living Room made the leap into selling office furniture. The business grew solely through word of mouth and business-to-business sales, and twelve years later, office furniture sales now account for 70% of TLR’s revenue. Today, two decades later, Dar es Salaam is the third fastest growing market in Africa behind Lagos, Nigeria and Lubumbashi, DRC. With the dramatic increase in business growth in Tanzania, there’s a corresponding need for the home and office furnishings and we are growing with the times. TLR eclectic has showrooms in six locations in Dar and Mwanza.
