The company was started in 1979 by the government of South Africa following the imposition of sanctions (United Nations Security Council Resolution 418) ADE was licensed in 1979 to manufacture Mercedes Benz and Perkins diesel engines primarily for military vehicles such as the Ratel, Buffel, Casspir and SAMIL Trucks.  After the 1994 democratic elections, the company continued and expanded production until it was taken over by the current shareholders. Additional parts are also imported from our OEM manufacturers in Europe.   Due to the quality of our products, customer service and our willingness to engage ourselves in joint ventures, we are now working in association with leading military, armoured & mining industry vehicle manufacturers in South Africa.    Our products are used on various applications for the United Nations and Africa Union Peace Keeping Forces.
