The Maputo International School, founded in 1975, caters for the children of both expatriate and Mozambican families. To involve parents in a meaningful partnership in achieving these aims. Class Parent RepresentativesEach class in the Middle and Lower Sections has a Parent Representative whose prime purpose is to improve communication between parents and the class teacher. It is also hoped that the Representative will assist parents new to the school (Maputo) adapt to to the school environment. Communication  At the end of each of the three terms, reports are issued in which comments are made on a pupil's academic performance, general conduct and participation in extra-curricular activities. There is at least one formal opportunity each term for parents to discuss their child's progress with his/her teachers, although parents are welcome to see the staff about particular concerns at anytime.

Our operational office is based in Khartoum, in the Al Amarat area. All our personnel: office staff, guides, drivers and cooks are very professional, well trained and have been working with the company since we first started the company in Sudan. They are all very knowledgeable on the country and have a wide range of experience managing groups to western standard in order to fulfil the needs of the most demanding clients. During the busy season (October to April) we have also European staff based in Khartoum to ensure that operations run smooth and to provide different language guides for international groups. Our cooks are very experienced in preparing tasty food during desert expeditions. With the help of fresh and very good vegetables, fruits, meat and fish, they can prepare exquisite dishes, being very careful with the hygiene. On the expeditions normally we have Continental style Breakfast; lunch with cold salads, rise and fruit; dinner is a hot three course meal. Fresh vegetables and fruit are provided according to their availability We have a number of 4x4 cars (Toyota Land Cruisers and Toyota Hi lux double cabin) all equipped for desert expeditions, seating arrangement changes from 3 to 4 passengers according to the car model. All our drivers have also mechanical knowledge, so in case of any unforeseen problems with the vehicle, they are ready to deal with the situation and, if possible, try to fix it on the spot avoiding delays.  For desert expeditions we provide igloo tents and rubber foam mattress 5 cm thick, folding tables, chairs and all kitchen equipment. The passengers are in charge to put up their own tent, which are igloo-type (2,20x 2,20) designed for 3 people but allocated as double or single. The staff will assist in case of need but normally it takes only a few minute to set it up. Passengers must take their own sleeping bag, pillow and torchlight, while the rest of the equipment is provided by the company.
