Founded as an independent company in 1965, Ries Engineering S. Co. (RESCO) is the Caterpillar dealer representative for Ethiopia. Prior to that, it was operating as an engineering department of Paul Ries & Sons (ETH) Ltd since 1961, when its founders, the Ries family, acquired the Caterpillar dealership for Ethiopia. RESCO has been established with capabilities that enabled it provide full support to its customers.

We are the quality manufacturer of Pure Lead, Lead Alloys, Re-Melted Lead and Polypropylene Chips. Besides, we are the importer of Battery Plate Scrap, Lead Scrap, Lead Ash, Dry Battery Scrap, Lead Ore and Lead Concentrate and exporter of Pure Lead, Lead Alloys, Polypropylene Chips, Remelted Lead Ingots / Blocks. Recent governmental efforts to improve Ethiopia's economy coupled with business incentives provided under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) were key factors in the realization of Novastar Garment Factory. Its spacious new factory building was completed in 2005. Novastar's founders received their business education and technical training in the United States. Collectively they hold over thirty years of experience in the western market. They have combined their extensive over-seas business training and knowledge of Ethiopian language, dialects and culture to establish a solid and innovative infrastructure.  The merger of Western and African business culture contributes to high-quality yet lower-cost manufacturing attractive to over-seas wholesalers. The Petroleum Institute of East Africa (PIEA) is the professional body for the oil industry in the region. The mission of the PIEA is to provide a forum for expertise and excellence in the oil industry, promote professionalism and free enterprise in the petroleum business supported by the highest operations and business standards.  The PIEA was formed in 1999 by oil industry Executives from companies, agencies and individuals with direct or indirect participation in the oil sector as a membership association for oil industry stakeholders to foster best practices & standards and to promote self regulation, following the liberalization of the industry in 1994. The PIEA core objectives include: Lobbying with policy makers and regulatory agencies for the provision of a legal, stable fair, free and competitive market environment. Fostering high standards and practices in the oil industry in East Africa by working with stakeholders, government and regulatory agencies to facilitate the development and sustenance of Petroleum standards, guidelines and best practices. Professionalism by building capacity through specialized petroleum training offered at the School of Petroleum Studies-a subsidiary of the PIEA. Carrying out public safety education and awareness on various petroleum related subjects.
