National Packaging Systems was established in 1983, as a manufacturer of Vertical form, fill and seal machines, Volumetric Fillers, Auger Fillers, Feeding Systems and Conveyors for the food and beverage industry. Our original range of hydraulically operated models was augmented in 1992 with our new generation machines using a belt drive pull down system. We now manufacture multiple types of machines IE: Form, fill and seal; Vertical sachet; Vertical stick pack and various customised machines. The machines are now pneumatic and are controlled via an inverter and PLC. Speeds of up to 60 - 100 packets per minute may be expected depending on product, weight, machine and packaging material. Many improvements have taken place making user friendly packaging machinery with the minimum of maintenance and downtime. Our success has been proved by continued support of our existing clients and a sharp increase in sales to new ones. Service & Backup Support Our machines are designed and built in our factory in Durban, South Africa. Improvements are done on the machinery at all times to move with the times and technology. All electrical components are readily available from local suppliers. We fit Bonfiglioni motors and gearboxes, Siemens Electronics PLC's and Festo Pneumatics. All spares are readily available ex stock. Our service technicians are trained to help our customers and their operators to minimize downtime by preventative maintenance and in-house training. Each machine is sold complete with a set of recommended spares, instruction manual with numbered wiring and with wiring diagram.

With a wide variety of goods for both retail and wholesale and a wide group of branches, the MFH Group provides a great network of shops and services to the general and business public. Brief History Established by Mr. Michel Hocheimy in 1970, MFH Group started off with a small pharmacy in Wellington Street and slowly grew into a proper pharmacy now called Banjul Pharmacy, named after the capital of the Gambia. Banjul Pharmacy makes sure that quality medicine is easily and affordably available to the Gambian people. Today, Banjul Pharmacy acts as a retailer and a whole seller to many hospitals, clinics and other pharmacies. In 1988, MFH Group established Sunu Kerr, which means "Our Home" in one of the local languages called wolof. Sunu Kerr offered a variety of consumer goods for bath, kitchen and home decor. Today, Sunu Kerr has 4 branches and has expanded into hardware, appliances, paint, plumbing, flooring and building materials. Sunu Kerr is among the leaders in Hardware and Building materials in the Gambia, making it very convenient for customers to find almost everything they need in one place to build, maintain, beautify and enjoy their homes. In 1991, MFH Group officially introduced LG Electronics (by then Goldstar) into the Gambia. MFH Group became the exclusive agent for this South Korean brand, which was established in 1958. Today, MFH Group currently has one of the best LG showrooms of all of West Africa, allowing others to see that tiny Gambia can still meet the standards of any developed country. Today, MFH Group has 270 staff and 12 stores in the Gambia. Of course, MFH Group believes that continuous learning is the key to success in todays fast-changing environment, therefore training our staff is a must. We train our staff continuously on product knowledge, customer service, customer relations and staff etiquette. All these tools are necessary to keep our staff challenged and enthusiastic about working with MFH Group. MFH Group is a Gambian company and supports the Gambian community with its many charity projects and services. The Group has sponsored many students towards a good education. Currently, MFH Group is one of the major sponsors and a member of the board for the School of the Deaf and the Blind. MFH Group sponsors many hospitals such as Bansang Hospital and the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH). In 2003, MFH Group was honored with a ward at the RVTH for sponsoring the Emergency and Accident Ward between 1996-2003. MFH Group has always been apart of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and will continue to support the efforts made by GCCI to make the Gambia a successful business industry.
